US Marshals, Sert Team Capture Lancaster Man After Firearm Bust: Police

A Lancaster man was arrested after officers found him carrying a stolen firearm during a traffic stop, and days later, a search warrant led to his capture, city police announced on Friday, Feb. 21.

Misael Torres, 19, of the 1000 block of Marshall Ave, was pulled over in a Toyota Corolla at 2:56 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, for a turn signal violation, police said. During the stop, officers discovered both Torres and his 16-year-old passenger were armed. One of the firearms was reported stolen.

Torres was charged with multiple firearms violations, resisting arrest, and a traffic offense, police said. His passenger, whose name was not released due to age, was also charged with multiple firearms violations.

At 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, the Lancaster County Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), US Marshals, and Manheim Township police assisted in executing a search warrant at Torres’ residence. He was swiftly located and taken into custody without incident, according to authorities.
